Puppy Training Options
When you decide you are going to bring home a puppy, it is a great idea to start looking for a local trainer. Whether you go through a small business, a large retailer or watch online classes, it is SO important to remember, no matter how much training we do with your puppy, they will still require training once they come home to you. We have a few direct trainers we work with and would be happy to provide their direct contact information below.
Phone a Trainer
We have a friend of the family that has two of our wonderful Aussies, Reef & Ocean. She has been in the animal industry for over 15 years and has specialized in dog behavior. She is an excellent trainer and wanted to offer her services at a special rate for our new puppy parents. Basically, if you have any concerns or questions you would like advice for, you can set up a 30 minute call or zoom to chat. You can contact Alexandra via phone (text or call), email or visit her website to arrange a date and time to connect. She offers excellent advice and tips on how to improve behaviors and handle specific situations.

Find a Trainer Near Me
To find a trainer near you, you can visit the Association of Professional Dog Trainers website. You simply add a zip code and local trainers will display. This search doesn't display every trainer out there, so the below are some additional options to find the right trainer near you.
It is always helpful to get a recommendation from other dog owners. If you are in Facbeook groups local to you, you can post asking for recommendations on positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Another excellent tool is Yelp. You can enter your zip code and review trainers in your area. Be sure to read reviews! If you are still having trouble locating a trainer, there are big box retail pet stores that offer training. They typically follow positive reinforcement methods and are a great choice to help with getting puppy basic manners and the socialization they need. |
