Hi,  I'm Ichigo!

Ichigo is a beautiful male Red Merle Mini American Shepherd, born on 12/30/2023. He’s fully grown at about 33 pounds.

He’s extremely smart and trainable, and received his AKC star puppy as soon as he was old enough to attend the class. His board and train trainer is one of his favorite people, and he has no problem with being boarded. She even uses him as an example for training other dogs! He’s very treat motivated, and with the right treats will learn just about anything you throw his way. No issues with house breaking, crate training, or being alone… but he’d rather be with you!

He’s very submissive with humans, allowing them to baby-carry him, squeeze his face, make him dance with them; you name it and he loves it! It’s attention! He particularly likes little children and is very gentle, friendly, and tolerant of all the typical things little kids may do to dogs like pulling ears, patting roughly, poking, holding awkwardly, etc.

In public, he’s curious, confident, and attentive. At 6 months he was already able to relax in a busy coffee shop without correction, excessive management, or bribery. He can ignore people that don’t show interest in him, but if someone really excited comes up he can’t help but wiggle and greet them.

He’s very confident around other dogs, and loves to play one-on-one or as part of a large group! In pack walks he’s got to be the lead dog (or shared with our other standard Aussie) or he tries to lead you to the front of the pack. He has a lot of energy, and can spend 1-2 hours at the dog park playing with other dogs. He will play with toys, but really he’s only interested in what other dogs are playing with and joining in.
